Mike Roland was an SGA advisor for the entire 50 years he worked for the Broward School system—25 as a high school advisor and 25, while serving as the county’s activity director, as the advisor to the Broward County Association of Student Council. While he was serving as an SGA advisor at Plantation High School, he also coached football and served 3 years as Athletic Director. As County Director of Activities, he founded the South Florida Leadership Training Camp and directed it for its first 24 years. He was appointed Florida Association of Student Councils (FASC) Executive Director in 2005 and served until his retirement in 2016. He met his wife, Carol, who he admits is the best thing that ever happened to him, at an FASC Leadership Workshop.
